Buzz words such as credit crunch and financial bottleneck are all around us and are being used almost to excess not only in times of crisis. The alleged shortage of capital in the real economy has long been a controversial and much discussed subject. The reason behind it however are often the companies seeking capital themselves. Lack of information provided to the lenders, incorrectly formulated financing requirements, unclear or incomplete statements of the actual position and even perspectives of the applicant – all this is why the search for new capital often fails.
Raising capital is far more complex than most are willing to admit. It has always been and in most cases will be insufficient to contact only one’s own bank or just one new bank when asking for finance, not to mention the excessive collateral companies often have to find for these types of deals.
Unaware of the numerous financing options available, companies often end up in crisis. These could be prevented or resolved if they knew the full range of financing instruments and were able to deal with them.
We do not see ourselves merely as consultants, although our work mainly and quite naturally comprises advisory elements. We rather see ourselves as a supplier maintaining eye to eye contact with entrepreneurs who seek capital, as a sparring partner of those companies seeking support for one specific task and therefore need someone with an open ear, understanding for business constraints, a strong performance and total confidentiality in dealing with third parties. For this to work, the chemistry between the company, its owner, its management and us has to be just right. Because the journey ahead is a challenging one that can only lead to a successful end if everyone involved supports the cause.
There are more than enough know-it-alls, people giving ill advise and worriers. More often than not, the problem is not a lack of know-how, but a lack of understanding how to make ideas come to life. Let us take control of your financing tasks.
